The Black Eyed Peas are at it again. First it was an Oprah Flash Mob, then it was a dirty 3D Super Bowl and mobile app concert experience.
And now, together with the Robin Hood Foundation, the Black Eyed Peas will offer fans an interactive online concert experience. And we’re very curious to see how it goes as we continue our exploration into virtual concert experiences.
Chase Presents The Black Eyed Peas “Concert 4 NYC.”
The concert will take place in Central Park tonight, Thursday, June 9 at 7:30pm ET / 4:30pm PT.
And here’s what we’re told viewers can expect during the performance:
Immersive Media will provide a live 360° on-stage concert experience available as viewers are placed in the driver’s seat, with the ability to switch from camera to camera, choosing any angle they want during the portions of the concert that are streamed live. Viewers can even experience the show from members of the Peas perspective, and look out on the 60,000 fans in attendance.
Additionally, online viewers will be able to engage with other fans who are tuned in by checking in live on Facebook and tweeting live to their followers via Twitter.
Fans are invited to enjoy this one-of-a-kind concert experience live only on Livestream at http://livestream.com/blackeyedpeas.
Update: 6/9/11 We’re sorry to report that the concert was cancelled to bad weather. And a rescheduled date has not yet been announced. If we get any other news, we’ll be sure to share it with you ASAP.
Tune in and then let us know what you think in the comments below!
