Will This Be The Dirtiest 3D Super Bowl Halftime Show Ever?

I hope. And to be honest ever since I lost my Bears vs. Packers Metro bet with my cousin Matt, I really don’t care who wins. But with the Black Eyed Peas as the Halftime show entertainment and learning about their BEP 3D 360 mobile app, I’m looking forward to the musical part of tonight’s Big Game, just so I can hear one dirty song.

Though they weren’t on our dream list from last year, I wasn’t surprised when they announced the Black Eyed Peas would be rocking the Super Bowl Halftime. They are the perfect band to host such a party.

And it’s a welcomed change from the last few years of the Who, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen.

For sure, the Black Eyed Peas know how to rock a Oprah Winfrey Flash Mob Dance Party and they are the type of band that has gotten so far from their original hip hop roots and morphed into the biggest uber-popular party good-time club band.

I’m not the biggest fan of their last three albums, as I remember how they used to sound before Fergie joined the group.

But I have to be completely honest and say that I can’t get enough of “The Time (Dirty Bit)” (iTunes). There’s just something about that track that’s so irresistibly catchy.

My favorite part of the song is when the wavy and distorted beat drops after the borrowed and digitized Dirty Dancing chorus fades out. From that point the song takes off full speed into an bangin’ booty-shaking dance floor groove-fest.

I’m not ashamed at all to say that I’m completely addicted to that song and that I’m looking forward to experiencing it at a club sometime soon.

That said, I’ve learned to take the Black Eyed Peas for what they are and I’m hoping that “The Time Dirty Bit” is worked into the Halftime Show set, if just for a quick moment so I can hear that funky beat drop and see thousands of fans turn one of the world’s biggest stages into a massive and crazy fun auto-tuned community of groove.

Interact and Win: The BEP 3D 360 APP

BEP 3D 360 mobile app

Continuing our exploration of mobile apps and 3D concerts it looks likes part of our interactive Super Bowl wish list came true this year, because BEP fans are invited to interact during the halftime show and enter for a chance to win a special signed souvenir via the BEP 3D 360 APP. Here’s what the Dipdive’s post says about the app:

Go to AR mode – take a photo of BABY APL with the PEAS performing in background of your TV (or live on stage if you happen to be there!) and take the best pic you can with him in it!

You can learn more about the app on Dip Dive and download the iPhone app on iTunes. If you test it out, let us know how it goes.

Is Nipplegate II On the Horizon?

Some people are worried about a Nipplegate II go down tonight. But I think all will go well and I don’t expect Fergie to be doing any scandalous remixing of her “Lady Humps” hit track when the family and the kids are watching. Maybe she’ll toss in a bit of her sensuous Nine’s performance too. But hey, who knows what to expect?

And with Christina Aguilera scheduled to get us going with the National Anthem, we’ll probably see another great rendition just like Jennifer Hudson’s. Maybe Aguilera will perform a revamped burlesque version of our nations anthem to get things going?

Will There Be Any Surprises?

Of course, there will.

With Slash and Usher slated to make a special appearance anything can happen.

I just hope Slash doesn’t get tackled again. That just wouldn’t be good at all. Let’s just rock the show and leave the tackling to the professionals on the field, okay?
