As I mentioned in the weekend concert preview, I’m stoked about the Grinderman show tonight at the Riviera in Chicago. And to celebrate my excitement, I’d like to share with you a special video.
This video clip above is from the 1987 German film Wings of Desire. And it features a scene with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
Cave is the frontman of Grinderman and watching this video wets the appetite for tonight’s Riviera show even more. This video flashback also shows how Cave’s past work has evolved into the raw, palpable and primal brilliance that Grinderman is today.
I also want to thank my friend and fellow Grinderman/Nick Cave fan James, who told me about this movie and scene, while we were talking about tonight’s show.
