One of the things I love about going to concerts is waiting in line outside the venue. Sure, it does suck to wait forever. But one of the benefits of a well-timed wait is that it allows the perfect amount of tension, curiosity and anticipation to build up in our brains and bodies.
And as thousands of other hungry Girl Talk fans rush to get in line, waiting is probably what you’ll do while as you try to download the new free album All Day.
Earlier this year, we shared the new Girl Talk live concert documentary of the 2009 NYE show that was released on YouTube.
So as an opening act to your All Day download, we suggest watching the NYE 2009 DVD to hold you over while you wait. If you need some other things to do, NPR has a good list of fun and productive things to do too.
Once the waiting is over, and you do “get in the venue” to download All Day, you’ll have the chance to journey through 71 minutes and 373 samples curated, layered and mashed-up by sonic collage artist Girl Talk (aka Gregg Gillis).
Taking a peek at the track list of All Day, we excited to see how it’s arranged.
We’re especially intrigued to dive into and explore and breakdown the track “Jump On Stage,” since it appears to capture one of the best and most climatic moments of a Girl Talk show.
Maybe the track will give us more details about the Girl Talk stage.
Either way, I hope you don’t have to wait all day, so hurry up and get in line to download All Day on the Girl Talk site .
Let us know what you think of the album.
And we’d love to hear about some of your most memorable “waiting in line stories” in the comments below.
