Last night I watched one of the most important live concerts ever: James Brown: Live at the Boston Garden . The concert took place a day after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. And it was absolutely amazing to watch Mr. Please, Please Himself control the crowd, keep the peace and give fans exactly what they needed through the power of live music.
And we here at Live Fix would like to do the same for you today. Because we know exactly what you like (well, most of the time we do.)
So here’s a little kick-start to get you rocking for the weekend.
Go ahead and dig in and have a great weekend of shows!
Wolfgang’s Vault: ELO, Paul McCartney, Yacht Rock
As usual, our sponsors Wolfgang’s Vault have a bunch of great live tracks for you this weekend. First, there’s the ELO, Newport Jazz Festival and other live tunes on the Wolfgang’s Vault blog.
Last week, we featured a baseball and Halloween playlist from Wolfgang’s Vault. And this week they’re featuring Yacht Rock, Paul McCartney, Rolling Thunder Revue and more on the Public Playlist.
What’s Else Is Going On In Wolfgang’s Concert Vault?
And if you’re looking for new and classic concerts to enjoy this weekend, you can check out WGV’s concert vault here, plus get your daily live concert fix $4 deals on full concert downloads

Continuing our exploration into a Wings Live Bootleg Experiment, we’re excited to share with you this Wolfgang’s Vault contest. We’re told that “you can enter to win a copy of the 35th anniversary reissue of Paul McCartney and Wings’ Band on the Run.” The album was released this week and it comes in four different formats, that was remastered by McCartney himself. Enter today, because the contest ends November 13!

Keys N Krates Preview
Coming up this weekend, and bringing our historic James Brown concert moment intro full circle, we’ll take a look at the art of live remixing in an interview with Toronto-based trio Keys N Krates.
We’ll ask them how they go about rocking crowds in real-time with soul, rock and funk samples and live instruments. To get you started, here’s a SoundCloud download of their latest release Almost 39 Minutes.
