John Mayer Exclusive Live Webcast From Battle Creek Studies Tour

John Mayer Rothbury by Colleen Catania

Continuing our look into virtual concert experiences, I wanted to pass this info along about pop star singer-songwriter John Mayer hosting an exclusive live webcast from his Battle Studies Summer Tour.

The webcast will take place live from John Mayer’s stop at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY on Wednesday, July 21st beginning at 4:00pm EDT.

As noted in the press release, the behind-the-scenes view will give fans worldwide the opportunity to get a glimpse backstage that’s hosted by the artist himself.

The glimpses backstage will be followed by a LIVE performance from Mayer’s soundcheck. In partnership with Ustream, the leader in live video, the webcast will be featured at, and

This is Mayer’s second offering of a live video stream for fans with the first one coming via the first song from his Raleigh, NC show on July 17; with just an hour’s notice, 67,000 fans were tuned in.

It’s no surprise knowing Mayer’s love for social media platform Twitter that the following night in Virginia Beach, VA, Mayer’s management sent out a Tweet about filming part of that night’s show for fans to enjoy, and within just 10 minutes, 9,000 viewers were watching live.

I first saw Mayer live at Rothbury 2009 and gained a huge respect for his blues guitar chops which I wish he did more of in a live setting and on album.

That said, this should be an interesting chance to see a part of John Mayer‘s live show and pre-show prep from a vantage point not often made available to fans.

Will you notice any Little Things about Mayers live show?

Or will you possibly learn more about Mayer’s fan-to-artist transformation?

After you watch it I’d like to know what you think of it and how, if you’ve seen Mayer live before, this live streaming impacted your past experiences. Drop your comments and questions in the comment section below.
