This weekend the Chicago Blues Festival and Old Town Art Fair will be rocking the Windy City. We’re ready. Are you? Get show details, mobile app info and more.
The Chicago Blues Festival kicks off today in Grant Park. It’s the world’s biggest blues festival and I’m amazed that this year will be the first year that we’ll be checking it out. Sometimes life and schedules just don’t allow us to get to the best shows like we would hope to. Nonetheless this is the year and I’m excited to report back with words and pics from our adventures.
I know I’ll be thinking about our recent Muddy Waters and Johnny Winter STLS Energy Transfer Experiment. Will this year’s artists measure up live to Mannish Boy?
If want to get mobile at the CBF, be sure to check out the Live Fix Summer Music Festival Mobile App Guide to get more info and download the Chicago Blues Festival iPhone App.
Then this weekend, Saturday through Sunday, The Old Town Art Fair will be going on with two days of live music (band line up below). The OTAF music bill, a mix of dance, pop and rock, was organized by our friend Shawn Rios who we’ve talked with before on Live Fix. Shawn’s a drummer who’s a veteran in the Chicago live music scene. You can listen to our interview with Shawn when we spoke with him live from SXSW back in March. He told us how he preps for music festivals and gave some good tips for local musicians who plan on heading to SXSW in the future.
