Justin over at Live Music blog posted something today that mixed me up. In a good way, that is.
I’ve seen this done before but it’s been awhile since I’ve seen it done with live music. And it was a welcomed sensory switch up.
Seeing a still image with an audio clip combined with Justin’s words about the Marco Benevento Trio @ Carnegie Hall July 20th performance, set me up for a sensory fork in the road that split my senses sending my mind in two exciting directions at once.
I think part of the stimulation and enjoyment came from not being sure if I was seeing a picture that represented the audio clip or vice verse. (I’m quickly posting this without doing my usual venue research so I’m not exactly sure what Carnegie Hall or the Independent looks like during a show these days. Feel free to provide clarification. )
That said, I wasn’t sure if the photo was from the show at the Independent that Justin references, or from the Carnegie Hall show. Either way, I really enjoyed the mix up of using two different mediums, in a different way, to recall his show experience. I hope you’ll enjoy it, too.
