Learning about the live performance of Japanese new-wave punk rock quartet Polysics made me think about how international bands who don’t speak the language of the audience they’re performing for can still communicate the frenetic fury of all the basic emotions we expect to feel at a live concert.
Such is the case with Polysics who might actually play a better live show than bands who I understand every single word. Polysics is on my list of 2009 shows to see.
Read more about Polysics in my interview for Alarm magazine as we talk about Polysics universal live music language.
