It’s been fun announcing and exploring the Coachella and Sasquatch festival lineups. It’s kind of a tease, though, since we’re still stuck in winter, snow, ice and slush mode here in Chicago. But nonetheless, next week tickets for the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival go on sale. Here’s the initial low-down.
While we were at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival we had the pleasure of talking with non-profit organization Rock For Kids about what inspires them to give children the opportunity to have their lives forever changed by learning how to play music and rock live in concert.
So was the Pitchfork Music Festival a successful three days of indie-rock and hipster utopia? Did it send us reeling? Did the experience cause fans to have any sensual after-rock effects from all the sun-drenched melodic mayhem? The first day of Pitchfork Music Festival 2010 wasn’t off the charts but it wasn’t a complete letdown either. It was somewhere in the middle. In less than five days after they made the initial announcement of the headliner and partial lineup including the reunited Pavement, Modest Mouse, LCD Soundsystem, and Raekwon, the three-day passes for the 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival sold out.
