Time is winding down for your chance to bid on Pitchfork Festival and Tom Petty tickets. So read on my fellow concert fans to see how you can get a piece of the action and scoop up a special Metro Live compilation and more to help out the kids.

The 2010 SXSW Music Conference starts today and unfortunately Live Fix won’t be checking out the action in-person as I’ll be in Chicago this week. But whether you’re there in Austin or not, I wanted to pass along a guide to checking out all the live music mayhem.

What goes on inside the mind of a solo artist when they’re on stage? Do they struggle to connect with the crowd? Or is their show more personal and palpable? Is there something about the live music experience that convinces solo artists to tour when their heart and mind are divided?
