I got this email about The Austin City Limits Flyaway Contest and thought I’d try something new on Live Fix and share it with you. And I’m excited to do so for a few reasons.  1) contests are something new for Live Fix 2) This contest is a great fit for Live Fix because it involves winning a trip to a great music festival and 3) It’s  being sponsored by some of my favorite music magazines and networks.  If featuring contests like these is something you’d like to see more of on Live Fix please let me know.  Now, on to the contest details!

Fuel TV, Filter Magazine and Quiksilver have teamed  up to give one lucky fan the chance to win a “trip of a lifetime.”

The winning fan “will receive airfare to Austin, Texas, hotel rooms for three nights, VIP backstage passes to the Austin City Limits Music Festival, a Quiksilver prize pack including $500 worth of clothing, a Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar, and a year subscription to Filter Magazine.”

The contest runs from August 18 to September 15, 2009. And the winner will be announced September 23. You can sign up here or in one of more than 50 participating Quiksilver stores across the country.

Now, what would be interesting to see is if this lucky fan gets to be a part of the show in some way.  And I’d be excited to learn what their experience is like during the ACL Festival weekend.  If you win the contest, by all means, fill us in before, during or after the weekend.
