Concert Previews: Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival, The Roots and St. Bagu

This weekend, Friday – Sunday, The Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival is going on at allegedly haunted The Congress Theatre, Double Door and Lincoln Hall.

And after watching the Last Banjo Standing contest, we’re excited to check out the winning bands and our current favorites Van Ghost, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Skatalites and others.

You can get ticket info here.

The Roots and St. Bagu at the House of Blues

As you know, we’ve been following the evolution of Chicago hip hop band St. Bagu this year.

Since our first chat with them about their first live show, I have to say it’s been quite a year for them.

And on Sunday, they’ll be opening up for the Roots at the House of Blues.

After watching concert fans rock the stage a couple weeks back at the Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp, I’m sure St. Bagu will have a blast and put on a solid and a very inspired show.

Knowing the Roots and what they did to us at the Shrine last year, I’m sure there will be also community of groove going on there for sure.

And we’ll definitely keep you updated on how it turns out. You can get ticket info here.

MOG Music Network: Give the Gift of Music Subscription

Now, let’s see what’s on the menu for free downloads today…

This week our sponsors and partners over at the MOG Music Network have a bunch of new releases from Kayne West, Rascal Flats, Robyn, Cee-Lo Green, Bruce Springsteen, Kid Cudi, Wu-Tang, The Tallest Man On Earth, N.E.R.D., Kid Cudi and Cee-Lo Green and others.

Many of those releases have been on my recent favorites list, and I’ve started to wonder what the songs will be like live as the artists get ready for, or continue, their current tours.

As a music fan myself, I know a subscription to MOG would make a great holiday gift because you can download or stream all those new releases, and as many other albums as you want, plus you get first dibs on their pre-release albums.

If you want to take it for a test spin, you sign up for a FREE 14 day trial at MOG.

For a full review that explains why I love MOG, check out this review of their highly addictive music subscription service.

Free Downloads You Missed
In case you’ve missed them, go check out the other free downloads from Girl Talk, Keys N Krates, Pixies and others that we’ve featured previously on Live Fix.

What’s Next…?
