Dave Matthews Band To End 2010 At Wrigley Field

The rumors about The Dave Matthews Band playing Wrigley Field were confirmed today. But are they the best band to play in the best ballpark in the world?

Earlier this year, we dreamed about blending baseball and live music when Jay-Z and Eminem announced their double bill ballpark tour to rock Comerica Park and Yankee Stadium. And today The Dave Matthews Band confirmed their shows at Wrigley Field on Sept 17-18.

As Greg Kot reports “tickets are $49.50, $65, $75, $85 and go on sale at 10 a.m. July 17 at www.tickets.com and by calling 1-800-THE-CUBS. Tickets will not be sold at the Wrigley Field box office. There is a six-ticket limit per customer.”

Though I loved seeing them at Rothbury in 2008 and in Larger Than Life 3D in December 2009, DMB wasn’t on my initial list of dream bands.

But I imagine that seeing them at Wrigley would be a pretty memorable experience for die hard DMB fans.

And if the Cubs continue their losing ways this season, it should take at least some of the sting out of defeat for Cubs fans who love DMB.

What do you think about DMB playing Wrigley to end their 2010 tour before their 2011 hiatus?

What bands would you like to see play Wrigley in 2011?
