Chris, I’m thinking about the Johnny B Goode concert scene. Chuck Berry is in his 80′s. He and Marvin–you know, his cousin, Marvin Berry–could make an appearance. It could be good times. Thanks for the kind words on Freelunchforlife.

Regarding mashups and remixes, the best mashup I’ve ever heard was a track called Smokey Fire. Smokey Robinson vs Arcade Fire vs Theme from Gunsmoke. Amazing!

Hi Angel, glad you enjoyed the post! Your Back to the Future add on is great. Were you thinking of the Earth Angel or Johnny B Goode concert scene? Either one would definitely be game for a live concert mashup. I’ll have to extend the mashup ingredients even further to include movies with concert scenes in them. Keep the ideas coming…

I think you’re concert mashup is a good point of departure to get really crazy with it. If I had my way, I’d like to have a concert mashup of Daft Punk w/ Miike Snow w/ Back to the Future (yes, the movie. Who says I can’t?).
It’s interesting how you bring up memory. I know this isn’t exactly what you meant, but for me, the Cure, the Pixies, and the Violent Femmes are inextricably bound together in my mind because I discovered them all around the same time.
I’m still trying to define this live concert mashup myself. Thanks for the suggestion. I’d like to see what else you come up with.
